Elga Europe Srl was founded in 1972 with Italian capital, starting as the distributor of products of Lea Ronal Inc Freeport New York for the electro plating and electronics industries.
From 1972 to 1979 the activity of the firm was focused more and more toward the processes of chemical and electrolitical deposition in the field of printed circuits, becoming the Italian leader.
In 1979 Elga Ronal was started with 50% Italian capital and 50 % Lea Ronal.
In 1989 a collaboration commenced with Tokyo Ohka Kogyo (headquarter located in Tokyo), a world leader in the field of the photopolymers.
In additional to the chemical products of Lea Ronal this lead to the marketing in Europe of dry film for printed circuits, photo imageable solder mask and products for semiconductors.
The success achieved in a short time brought about the foundation in the 1996 of Tok Italy S.p.a. dedicated to the production in Italy of dry film and other products for the semiconductor industry.
Tok Italia was a joint venture between Tokyo Ohka and Elga Ronal and became the sole manufacturer of dry film in Europe .
Elga Ronal was granted exclusive rights to the marketing of dry film produced by Tok Italia for Europe, Russia, North and South America and the Mediterranean basin.  The markets of the Far East being supplied by Chang Chung Plastics of Taiwan who produce dry film under Tokyo Ohka licence.
In 1999 Lea Ronal was merged with Rohm and Haas and in the same year Elga Ronal became Elga Europe, with Italian capital.
The distribution network was reorganized with the establishment  of Elga Swiss and Elga UK, together with offices in France and Germany, while specific distribution agreements were signed with companies present in specific territories experienced in the distribution of dry film.
In 2003 the Italian headquarter became the centre for research and development for dry film.  In this way Elga Europe offers to clients:
1 – short delivery times (thanks to production in Italy)
2 - continuous technological improvement thanks to the structure of research.
In 2005 came the collaboration between the Company Technic Advanced Technology Division for the marketing of chemical products necessary for the production of printed circuits
(cleaner, acid copper, tin bath etc.), and from the beginning of 2006 an agreement with the Taiwanese Chang Chun Plastics for the marketing in Europe of copper foil and a complete range of laminates that includes CEM1, CEM3 - FR2 and various typologies of FR4.The constant evolution of Elga Europe has made the range of products today very wide-ranging and includes:  

   1  Dry film for printed circuits.
       Special Dry films for chemical milling.
       Dry films for sand blasting.
       Dry films for MEMS.
       All these dry films are of Italian production.
  
   2 Chemical products for production of printed circuits including processes of   
      metalization, electro plating and all the ancillary products for dry film such as  
      developers, strippers, antifoam etc.
 
   3 Photoresist, developers and strippers for the semiconductor industry.
 
   4 Inner Layer Liquid photoresist for vertical and  horizontal application.
 
   5 Copper foil from 12 to 70 microns and all types of rigid laminates.
 
Also, Elga Europe S.r.l. boasts a ten year collaboration with the Hakuto Co Ltd for the sale in the Italian market of laminators and exposure units.
Elga Europe also guarantees a complete after sales service with two highly experienced technicians.
